What is the AFCAT EXAM?

After the NDA and CDS, the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) is the most sought-after exam. why? Because you will receive the same rank and advancement as those who pass the above two exams. This examination is held every two years to select young officers into the Indian Air Force's various wings, including flying and ground duty (Technical and Non-technical). After passing all of the AFCAT levels, you will be assigned as a Flying Officer in the world's fourth-largest Air Force.

AFCAT attracts a large number of people. You have the option to directly serve your homeland and gain the title of martyr. The AFCAT is usually held in February and August. Every year, tens of thousands of young people sit for the exam, but only a handful succeed. If you want to be able to fly in India's skies, passing the AFCAT exam is the way to go.


AFCAT Exams 2022 Eligibility

For Flying Wing
  • As of January 1, 2021, a candidate applying for AFCAT must be between the ages of 20 and 24.

  • Those who hold a valid pilot license from the DGCA in India are granted a two-year extension.

  • Unmarried people should be between the ages of 20 and 25, whereas married people, widowers, and divorcees should not be older than 25.

  • Married candidates are not permitted to reside with their families and will not be offered family housing.

  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60 percent in Physics and Mathematics in 12th grade, or a minimum of 60 percent in full-time B.Tech or B.E. courses.

  • They must be in good mental and physical shape.

  • Their height varies from 157 to 193 cm, and their weight varies from 49 to 81 kg.


Ground Service (Technical)

  • As of January 1, 2021, a candidate applying for AFCAT must be between the ages of 20 and 24.
  • Those who hold a valid pilot license from the DGCA in India are granted a two-year extension.
  • Unmarried people should be between the ages of 20 and 25, whereas married people, widowers, and divorcees should not be older than 25.
  • Married candidates are not permitted to reside with their families and will not be offered family housing.
  • Candidates must have a minimum of 60% in Physics and Mathematics in 12th grade, or a 60% minimum aggregate in full-time B.Tech or B.E. studies in the Electronics and Mechanical engineering branch.
  • They must be in good mental and physical shape.
  • Their height spans from 157 to 193 centimeters, and their weight ranges from 49 to 81 kilograms.
Ground Service (Non-Technical)

  • As of January 1, 2021, a candidate applying for AFCAT must be between the ages of 20 and 24.
  • Those who hold a valid pilot license from the DGCA in India are granted a two-year extension.
  • Unmarried people should be between the ages of 20 and 25, whereas married people, widowers, and divorcees should not be older than 25.
  • Married candidates are not permitted to reside with their families and will not be offered family housing.
  • If applying for Administration and Logistics, candidates must have a bachelor's degree in any field with a minimum of 60%. They must have a three-year B. Com. degree with at least 60 percent aggregate for the Accounts part.
  • They must be in good mental and physical shape.

Special Entry (NCC Flying Wing)

  • As of January 1, 2021, a candidate applying for AFCAT must be between the ages of 20 and 24.
  • Those who hold a valid pilot license from the DGCA in India are granted a two-year extension.
  • Unmarried people should be between the ages of 20 and 25, whereas married people, widowers, and divorcees should not be older than 25.
  • Married candidates are not permitted to reside with their families and will not be offered family housing.
  • Candidates applying through NCC must have a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics and Mathematics in 12th grade or a minimum aggregate of 60% in full-time B.Tech or B.E. courses as of January 1, 2017.
  • In addition, a 'C' certificate from the NCC Air Wing Senior division is required.
